FAQ
The Atmosphere SKY Air Treatment System is a state-of-the-art air filtration system for your home. It is an investment in clean air for you and your family. It offers great-looking design and incredible performance. Built-in connectivity allows you to control the air inside your room, even when you’re not home. The Atmosphere SKY Air Treatment System effectively removes indoor air pollutants, including viruses, allergens, mould and mildew. Allergy UK and ECARF have deemed the Atmosphere SKY™ Air Treatment System as suitable for allergy sufferers by awarding the Seal of Approval and Quality Seal, respectively. Put simply, the Atmosphere SKY Air Treatment System is an air-purifying powerhouse.
Studies show indoor air can be five times more polluted than the air outside1. Moreover, outside air dissipates eventually, while indoor air stays, well, indoors. The Atmosphere SKY Air Treatment System eliminates airborne particles from the air passing through the unit, with certified reductions of pollen, dust and smoke down to 0.0024 microns. Atmosphere SKY will achieve better than HEPA (as defined by US Department of Energy)2 rated particulate filtration on all speeds.
1 US EPA states, ‘our indoor environment is two to five times more toxic than our outdoor environment, May 2016
2 HEPA is an acronym for ‘high efficiency particulate air filter’ (as defined by the United States Department of Energy). This type of filter can remove at least 99.997% of airborne particles 0.3 microns in diameter.
The Atmosphere SKY Air Treatment System draws air from the room into its three-stage filtration system – a pre-filter, HEPA or particulate filter and odour or carbon filter. Together, these filters effectively remove contaminants and pollutants from the air passing through the unit. Powered by a German-engineered motor, this three-stage filtration system has a Single Pass Efficiency (SPE) rating of at least 99.99% for particles sized 0.0024 microns or larger on all speeds. At speed 5, it has a Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR)1 that’s no less than 300 cubic feet per minute – perfect for cleaning the air in rooms up to 465 square feet.
1 CADR is an acronym for Clean Air Delivery Rate – a performance rating that measures the volume of purified air an air treatment system can deliver in one minute. CADR is considered the best method for determining a portable air treatment system’s initial air cleaning performance.
The Atmosphere SKY Air Treatment System is CADR certified by the U.S. Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) for the reduction of airborne tobacco smoke, dust, and pollen at airflow volumes of 300 cubic feet per minute. In addition, allergen removal claims for the Atmosphere SKY Air Treatment System have been reviewed by Allergy UK2 , which gave the Atmosphere SKY Air Treatment System its Seal of Approval and ECARF3 gave it a Quality Seal for Allergy-Friendly Products and Services. And the high-energy efficiency with low power consumption of the Atmosphere SKY Air Treatment System has earned it the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR®4 certification for energy efficiency.

The app is the best way to control the air inside your room, when you’re away from home. Using the app on your mobile device, and Wi-Fi or Bluetooth technology, you can easily adjust the settings, order a filter when needed, and monitor the air quality inside your room. You can also use the app to compare the air inside your home with the air outdoors.
The Atmosphere SKY Air Treatment System is designed for individual rooms up to 465 square feet (43 square metres) in size, with a ceiling height up to 8 feet (2.4 metres). Place the unit near an electrical outlet and away from heating and cooling vents and high traffic areas. To avoid blocking airflow, keep the space above the unit clear and do not place anything in front of or on the unit. Place the cord away from foot traffic, to avoid a trip hazard. Do not cover or hide the cord underneath carpeting, rugs or mats. The Atmosphere SKY Air Treatment System provides more effective performance in rooms where the doors and windows are kept closed.
Air enters through the front cover of the unit. The pre-filter removes large, lint-like particles and contaminants from the air passing through the unit. The HEPA filter effectively removes allergens and other particles as small as 0.0024 microns. The carbon filter absorbs air gases, including volatile organic compounds, and reduces household odours from cooking, smoking, pets and other sources. Filtered air is then discharged upward through the grill on the back of the unit.
A micron is one-millionth of a metre. Without magnification, the trained human eye can see contaminants that are approximately 50 microns in size. The Atmosphere SKY Air Treatment System removes particulates as small as 0.0024 microns – about 3,000 times smaller than a red blood cell. About 45,000 times smaller than the thickness of a paper currency. One grain of pollen is 30 microns, dust mite byproducts are 10 microns, viruses can be as small as 0.02 microns. Amway scientists designed the Atmosphere SKY Air Treatment System to remove more microscopic particles, because these pollutants tend to remain suspended longer in the air we breathe.
The Atmosphere SKY Air Treatment System is designed for use in rooms up to 465 square feet (43 square metres) in size, with a ceiling height up to 8 feet (2.4 metres). It is not intended for use in larger rooms or in industrial environments, factories, bars or restaurants. Use in unintended environments will be considered a misuse of the product and could result in poor performance and short filter life, as well as void product warranties.
- Night Mode – Display dimmed for use at night
- Turbo Speed – Maximum speed, used when air quality is poor or to eliminate odours from cooking, smoking, pets and other sources
- Auto Speed – Fan speed varies, based on air quality
Pre-filter
The pre-filter is located directly behind the front cover. Depending on usage, the pre-filter should be cleaned every 2 – 12 months. The pre-filter monitor on the front control panel will flash to indicate when cleaning is needed or the usage status can be seen within the AtmosphereTM Connect app. Use a vacuum to clean the pre-filter. Leave the pre-filter in place with the unit running, and vacuum over the surface to remove all larger contaminants. Clean the pre-filter regularly to help extend the life of the other filters in the Atmosphere SKY Air Treatment System.
HEPA Filter
The HEPA filter is attached to the pre-filter. HEPA filter life is based on a combination of three different operating conditions, the hours of operation per day, the speed of operation, and the dust sensor readings. The HEPA filter life ranges from 3 months to 5 years depending on these conditions. Replace the HEPA filter regularly to ensure the unit is removing allergens from room air.
Odour/Carbon Filter
The odour/carbon filter is located behind the HEPA filter. The odour filter will last from 4 to 12 months depending on how many hours and at what speed the unit is used.
NOTE: For best results, you should replace this filter at least once per year regardless of speed or usage.
